A MUSICAL MAGIS TALK GETS THE BOYS INTO THE SWING

On Wednesday 4th of December, the boys of St. John’s got the most memorable Magis from the modern gentleman Aaron James Williams. Aaron is a renowned composer, guitarist and phenomenal music director. His professional career is one of success and achievement, yet he remains as humble and hard-working as he was from when he was our age.
Aaron kindly came to talk to us about all the fun and impressive stuff he has done during his career as a musician. This included networking to create a contact list (we are still in awe of his extensive celebrity friends) which can be seen on his website (here). He also shared the numerous venues he has performed at worldwide, including London’s O2, Coachella and many more, with the likes of Craig David, Raye and Little Mix.
Aaron has created songs for the most recent adverts of Samsung, Tilda Rice and Emirates. We were very fortunate to see how an advert is made and the impact music has on it.
We were lucky enough to hear Aaron play a cover that he composed of ‘Give Me The Night’ which featured on a very popular television show last summer. His performance left us speechless by his talent and ambition.
Aaron taught us that being passionate about what we do, regardless of what it is and working hard, will lead to success and ultimately happiness. It was encouraging to know that most of his successful work was created in his cabin down the road from our school, showing that amazing things can happen whoever you are and wherever you are. We also got to see his sidekick, Bear the Cavapoo, who really enjoyed the performance too.
It just so happens that Aaron is the recent fiancé of Miss Carver, our Blandyke 1 teacher. We wish him and Miss Carver well on their engagement and we wish Aaron all the best for his future shows.
