ASCENSION MASS
This morning we celebrated the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord.
The Mass was broadcasted throughout the school from the chapel. In the chapel, we had Father Porter, Great Figures B (Year 8), and three of our Sacristans ably leading the service.
The St John’s community celebrated the day when Jesus was taken to Heaven upon clouds, 40 days after his resurrection.
Father Porter talked about the ideas, talents, and opinions we pick up from those around us; our parents, our teachers and our friends. He informed the boys that this is the same way Jesus taught his disciples and showed them how to be good people.
For two thousand years, people have been sharing the teachings of Jesus from one generation to another, from one place to another.
We are the next generation to learn, and it is our responsibility to teach others the love of Jesus through our words and actions.
Having Father Porter at St John’s again made the Mass very special for the boys and staff.
