FIRST® LEGO® LEAGUE ACHIEVEMENTS

Congratulations to St John’s Beaumont School Year 5 boys for their success at the FIRST® LEGO® League Competition.

Sean, Bangzai, Felix, Joshua and Eliot in Year 5 competed in the FIRST® LEGO® League earlier this term. The league is a global STEM challenge set by the FIRST and LEGO organisations and is run in the UK & Ireland by the Institution of Engineering and Technology. The boys entered on their parents’ initiative. The competition involves robot challenges, presentations by the teams about their robot design, an innovation project and the representation of core values.

The team called themselves ‘The Upper Elements’ —what else!? — and completed challenges alongside eighteen other teams. We’re very proud to report that they left with the Judges’ Award for the most consistent skills and achievements across all categories, despite being the youngest team in their regional tournament!

Well done to our boys and a big thank you to Mr Byrne for the planning and organisation and to Mrs Mackin for the fantastic video below.
