FSJB DOG SHOW – AUTUMN 2019

Our parent-body FSJB organised a fantastic welcome-back event after the Summer, themed around a dog show to which all boys were invited to bring their four-legged family members to be judged by staff of the nearby Battersea Dogs Home.

Proud winner of the 'Owner Look-a-like' at the St John's Beaumont Dog Show 2019Dogs could be entered into various categories like ‘Cutest puppy’, ‘Golden Oldie’, ‘Fastest Sausage Eater’, ‘Owner look-a-likes’ and many more. There was a lot of tail wagging and parading while the judging was under way. Often the judges found it extremely hard to make their decisions and just a few proud owners walked home with trophies. Nevertheless, lots of fun was had by everyone on this gorgeous sunny day.

Year groups were hosting some fun stalls to entertain; including a tin-can-alley, hook-a-duck, tuck-shop, raffle and many more. Boys could challenge themselves by ‘riding a bull’ which was extremely popular. All proceeds are going towards our chosen school charities at the end of the year.

The Maidenhead Fire Brigade showcasing their state-of-the-art fire engine at the St John's Beaumont Dog Show 2019Another highlight of the afternoon was the visit by the Maidenhead fire brigade who came to join us with their state of the art fire engine and even allowed the boys to explore it from the inside. They demonstrated some of the power tools they use to rescue people to the mesmerised boys.

A massive thank you to our judges from the Battersea Dog Home Old WindsorWe’d like to thank the FSJB for organising such a fantastic afternoon, as well as the Battersea Dogs Home for supplying the fabulous judges and the Maidenhead fire brigade for sending their brave team, as well as all families for joining us. We are looking forward to another installment of the SJB Dog Show in 2020!
