REMEMBRANCE 2020
Armistice Day 2020
This year’s Service of Remembrance provided a wonderful opportunity for us to ‘re-member’, in other words, to come together as a community of boys, staff, parents and old boys to acknowledge and give thanks for the sacrifice of others.
Despite the restrictions in place, the service was both poignant and restorative for those who attended. It was lovely to have our Rudiments (Year 8) boys with us for the service outside and our very grateful thanks go to Mrs Katnik and Ms Katsarou who did such a splendid job to
co-ordinate the boys in difficult circumstances. Thank you also to our readers and Mr Blakey, Alexander K, Luke B and Joshua L who performed Reveille at the end of our two-minute silence.
It was also lovely to have a small group of socially-distanced choristers pre-record two beautiful pieces of reflective music especially for this service and also to be joined by Col Butterworth who spoke so powerfully about the role of service and sacrifice as a serving army officer.
Thank you to all involved and to those who joined us online; our parents, overseas boys, family members and old boys.
