SJB TOGETHER – 29TH JANUARY 2021
Dear parents, guardians and boys,
It has not been a week since we last wrote to you as part of the school’s newsletter but so much has once again happened in this short period of time.
The recent government announcement regarding a potential return to school has given us all a greater sense of understanding and enabled us to plan accordingly. We will continue, in the time remaining, to make the necessary amendments to the boys’ timetable to ensure that they are getting the very best out of the curriculum both academically but also personally as well. Thank you to those of you that have kindly shared your thoughts and reflections with us, these have proved invaluable in our planning.
It really cannot be said often enough how proud we all are about the manner in which your sons are progressing during this difficult time. Once again, this week, we have seen so many touching examples of the boys’ support for each other and the steps they continually take to make the most of the unique opportunities that this situation presents.
The weather report for the coming weekend might well offer some respite and an opportunity to enjoy their time outside in a different way and, if it should snow, I hope yourself and the boys enjoy every moment. Don’t forget to log any exercise, any miles you do, with the SJB SHAPE Challenge to help us make our way around South Africa with the English and Irish Lions.
Please do keep the pictures coming too. It is so heartening to see what the boys are up to outside of their lessons: this is naturally such an important part of their time at St John’s and to see them continuing to flourish away from school is a real tonic.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Giles Delaney
