ST JOHN’S BEAUMONT WELCOMES NEW TEACHING STAFF
A very warm welcome to a host of wonderful new teaching staff that has joined us in various parts of the school:
Pre-Prep
We are pleased to welcome Ms Dow, Mrs Evans and Ms Carroll into our growing Pre-Prep department.
Ms Dow (left) is joining Mrs Norton’s new Blandyke 2 (Y1) class as a teaching assistant.
Mrs Evans (middle) joins Reception with many years of Pre-Prep teaching expertise.
And Ms Carroll (right) is teaching our Berchman’s 2 boys, bringing a host of exciting ideas from her previous teaching experience.
The boys have already had a great week with their new teachers.
Music Department
Not a new starter as such, but in a new role, is Mr Jones who is known to some of you as our very talented peripatetic percussions teacher. You might recognise him from the virtual Mamma Mia rendition with the percussions ensemble last year.
However, in his new role, he is excited to be teaching music in our Pre-Prep department with our smallest members of the school community.
Middle School
The Middle School is also growing, with an additional Year 3 class in place.
Bellarmine 2’s new class teacher is Mr Littleton who has just returned from teaching in Kenya for a couple of years. He is also a very keen sportsman and especially likes playing golf and tennis.
Upper School
Science
With Mrs Dos Santos on maternity leave, we are excited to introduce you to Mr Baker who joins us with 15 years of experience in teaching Science. Besides teaching, he is very passionate about community projects in one of which he helped set up a community cafe in a deprived area. Mr Baker has two grown-up children and a grandson In his spare time he enjoys gardening and building model boats and historic aircraft.
History
We are pleased that Mr Reid was able to join us at short notice to cover for Mr Thomas while he is recovering from ill-health. Mr Reid joins us from Caldicott School where he was teaching for the last two years. Having been born in Nottingham, he is a lifelong supporter of Nottingham Forest FC and has an interest in medieval fencing. He is on the lookout for a longsword fencing club in the area.
Classics
Please join us in welcoming Dr Pearson as the new Head of Classics. Dr Pearson joins us from Royal Holloway College. He was born in the United States and in his spare time likes to cook. He is an avid football fan, supporting Fulham F.C.
Art
Our new Head of Art is Mrs Beckwith who joins us with 22 years of teaching experience in Primary, Secondary and 6th Form settings. She offers a wide range of teaching skills, including drawing, painting, textiles, sculpture and printing. Besides her love for art, she also enjoys playing the cello and likes to swim. She has two sons who she likes taking to the beach for a walk.
