THE SJB BIG KNIT
Get knitting for the Windsor Homeless Project!
This term, we are starting an Outreach Program that will include all boys and, hopefully, the whole St. John’s Beaumont School community.
Giving back and serving others is at the forefront of what we want to teach our boys and, one way in which we embrace that is our Day of Service in the Michaelmas term. During service mass on the 26th of November, we would like to present a set of blankets to the Windsor Homeless Project. We have already collected enough squares to make 3 blankets from last year’s knitting efforts, but we need more!
The blankets are made from 15×15 cm squares, knitted or crocheted. 10 squares are stitched together into a strip. Finally, with 10 strips of 10 squares we will make up one blanket. This will be an ongoing drive throughout the year. We are hoping to be in the position to donate blankets on a regular basis throughout the year.
We hope that each square is knitted/crocheted with love and that the whole family gets involved, and most importantly, that each blanket we make will keep people in need warm when they most need it.
Warm regards,
Ms Dos Santos and Ms Maaren
