THE THWARTING OF BARON BOLLIGREW
July 3rd saw the grand opening of our new outdoor theatre at St John’s. We chose as our inaugural production Robert Bolt’s play, the Thwarting of Baron Bolligrew. The script gave our boys the most wonderful opportunity to display their understanding of characterisation and wonderful comic timing. Their performances kept the audience enthralled throughout and the additional sound and visual effects added further to a marvellous sense of occasion.
We look forward to many more performances in the theatre in the future and owe a deep sense of gratitude to our Head of Drama Mrs Hunt and to parents and staff who helped support the staging of this production. However, it was the boys who have worked so hard and so diligently throughout the past 2 terms to produce such a tremendous production and to them we say…BRAVO!
